SchoolFront Parent Portal Access

Keeping Parents & Guardians Informed & Involved

Much of each student's academic information from SchoolFront is immediately available to parents via the SchoolFront parent portal. This information is protected like all information in SchoolFront and each parent is only able to see the information of his or her own child. If a parent has more than one child at the school, the parent will be able to see the academic information of all of their children once they login to the system using their user name and password.

Real-time Access to Student Academic Information

There is no delay between the time when a teacher enters a grade, a student's attendance status, or a disciplinary citation and when parents can see the information. If the school has configured the system to share the information, parents can see it instantly.

School Announcements & Calendar

Parents who login to SchoolFront will see announcements from the school and upcoming events right on their homepage.

Staff Members from schools can generate school announcements and specify which users will see the announcement on their homepages. For example, an administrator user may create an announcement about a school dance that parents and students can see, and they may post notification of a Snow Day school closing for all members of the school community to see.

The School Calendar is a central place for school to post school-wide events. Here you will find school holidays, events like dances and concerts, community events, etc., as well as other days when the school is officially closed for students.

Alerts & Notifications

Parents can configure email alerts to automatically notify them if their child receives above or below a certain grade, if the child is marked absent from a class, and if a disciplinary incident is logged for the child.

Instant Messaging & Private Messaging

Parents with students in schools that leverage SchoolFront Portal for website / intranet can login and send personal messages to teachers and other school staff members using messaging capabilities. Additionally SchoolFront Portal offers teachers the option of embedding an Instant Messenger in their teacher / classroom pages. Teachers who use this functionality can set "online hours" during which students and parents can Instant Message (IM) them without having to handout user names or "friend" everyone.

SmartPhone, Cell Phone, & Tablet Mobile Access

Student information is available 24 x 7 to parents securely from any telephone, cell phone, and Internet-enabled device. The system operates well on tablet devices and has been tested in all major web browsers; including those that run on Mac, PC, Mobile, etc.
